5 Great Ideas To Combat Writers Block

  • Sharebar

This month I decided to take blogging a little more seriously.  I have all kinds of titles that I would like to blog about and I have already saved them in the drafts folder.  The following are ideas to help those out there who might be encountering the common ‘writers block’ and don’t have an idea of what to write today.

1.] Jot It Down.

When you come across an interesting topic that you might want to write about, jot it down even if you are not near your computer.  Just type it up and save it as a note on your phone or send it to your email inbox so you’ll remember.  If you’re watching a movie or TV, and they mention something you feel you could write about then jot it down and write about it.  That way you don’t have to come up with titles on your own because they are already out there in our daily lives.

2.] Seek New Topics.

Visit the news page of your niche and write about the latest news.  Blog about your opinions on that piece of news.  Not only is this great for attracting targeted visitors as you will be writing about the top stories that people are searching for but you stand a higher chance of being bookmarked.

3.] Answer Questions.

I was scheming through Yahoo Answers‘ website questions and I just wanted to answer everyone’s questions.  Then I thought: why should I help Yahoo with valuable content when I can rephrase these questions and just answer them on my blog? That way I create content that benefits everyone, but it’s available on my website so it also benefits me.

4.] Review Anything.

Reviews are great and normally very resourceful.  Because we are all consumers and whether our opinions are positive or negative, it matters anyway.  Review anything, especially products or websites related to your niche.  It helps people obtain your valuable opinion on e.g. something they’re thinking of purchasing and these types of entries also invites consumers to reply with their reviews.

5.] Take A Trip Down Memory Lane.

Again, keeping with relevancy; submit an account of a story in your history that relates to your niche.  For example if my blog was about gadgets and gizmos, I could go back in time and list down the different phones I’ve every owned.  In that same post, I could write up each phone’s detailed specifications and review.  That might be an interesting post for some people who have also owned one of these phones and really enjoyed the past when phones were so simple compared to what’s available to us today.

Good luck, and happy writing~!
