For quite a while now I’ve been browsing through Fiverr‘s $5 offers and there seems to be some really good bargains on the site. So far, I’ve spent only $6 ($5 for a royal couple postcard with a limited edition stamp + $1 postage). I’m also really interested in the $5 voice-overs or greetings, and video adverts people are willing to do. It’s just great!
There are a few categories: gifts, graphics, video, social marketing, travel, writing, advertising, music & audio, fun & bizarre, tips & advice, business, technology, programming and other. Some featured ads currently on offer includes: a 30-second radio commercial on an FM radio in Oklahoma City on a Friday night, placing your website URL or a short message on a toast and sending you a high resolution image of it, create and impressive kinetic typography moving text video, professional voiceover, graffiti writin, Facebook girlfriend, 3 card tarot reading, poem for loved one, etc.
The main issue I’ve experienced with this however is how much people expect you to for a mere $5. For example, I’ve actually offered to do a simple HTML site for $5 and I was being approached by a good number of people asking for something CMS-like. It’s funny how some will manipulate you in saying “I need an HTML site with login features and a database…”. But it’s still an interesting platform nonetheless.
It’s a great place for people to test their creativity also, and offer stuff that won’t cost them anything, but something that others would be willing to pay $5 for.
