New Theme's Outline Layout
I’m back. As you can see, I’ve already completed the blog theme’s outline layout (if you’ve visited the blog within the past few hours, then you might still be seeing the old theme). This is what I had in mind…I’ve used the same Thematic framework but have changed it to 3 columns instead of the default 2 columns. I’ve also raised the primary column to the top of the header, while the secondary column begins at the main content section.
The theme has also be set to a fixed width of 1200 pixels. I know…risky. Most people are still on 1024 pixels but this is changing, so I guess people really ought to move with time. If you are on 1024 px or smaller, you should see the blog section fine, but part of the primary column will have to be vertically scrolled to.
There are a few things on the theme that I haven’t worked on: the graphics and typography. I’m actually going to leave it the way it is right now believe it or not.
After I complete this post I will continue to paste the adverts, and fix the columns. I will deal with the rest of the theme when I have more content on the site so it will actually make sense then. I still want to keep it really simple and I want everything to load fast enough. I know that some people will hate the theme, especially the ads…but I’ll try to compensate with quality content…and if you’re still not happy with anything on here then I don’t know why you’re still reading.
