Today I decided to join Technorati, which is almost like a blog directory and search engine. Their description is: “Real-time search for user-generated media (including weblogs) by tag or keyword”. I decided to join it to help establish my blog, which I have been taking quite seriously since the beginning of the month.
Oddly enough, as I was personalizing my account profile I couldn’t find ‘Seychelles’ under the ‘Location’ part of the form. The list was full of countries, and all the other ‘S’ countries seem to be there. So I decided to take the initiative to contact Technorati and ask them if they could add Seychelles to the list. I also added that if this was not possible, was there a reason that Seychelles was not on the list?
I know it’s a weird thing to do and many people don’t bother taking the time to enhance the accuracy of other websites…but I’ve always been one to comment or contact a website. Reminds me of the time I sent Forbes an email after reading one of their articles that claims Seychelles is an Asian country. It’s almost like they don’t do enough research or something; how can someone get that mistaken; especially such a highly-reputed website?
Anyway, I hope Technorati adds the country or at least get back to me on this.
