This website is currently hosted on Stablehost. I’ve had an account with them for several months now, but so far so good and they are very quick with customer support. I might even give them an A+. The reviews out there for Stablehost seems excellent, and I’m not surprised.
The rates for Stablehost is mid-range in my opinion. They have something for everyone no matter the budget and they offer features sufficient for most webmasters. Their shared hosting starts from $3.95, but they also have a $5.95 and a $7.95 package.
Features include Softaculous for one-click freeware installs, email management, cPanel, 24/7 technical suport, web builder, etc. Their starting package also offers unlimited domains, unlimited email as well as database. The difference between the shared hosting packages seems to be only the disk space and bandwidth allowance so if you’re starting small, then basic package should be fine. They help you upgrade any time you want, with no extra fees.
I am currently on shared hosting since I was just testing their service. But soon I will most likely move to reseller hosting so I can manage client websites from one webhost. I haven’t tested their reseller yet, but it starts from $9.95 a month and you are limited to 10 clients. At $19.95 you can have up to 50 clients and $29.95 is for more than that, or “unlimited” clients and 40GB disk space, with 300GB bandwidth allowance.
Their reseller packages offer RVSiteBuilder Pro, Softaculous, Litespeed Web Server, WHM, cPanel, etc. They also offer lots of coupon codes around so search for them on Google or some web hosting communities. Web Hosting Talk is a great forum, and it’s also where I found this so-far-so-good web host.
I also have some websites hosting on 1Dollar Webhosting. The best thing about this is that their packages start from $0.50, and they also have others: $0.75, $1, and $3. So if you are on a smaller budget then they are definitely one to try out. I can’t give them superb reviews however because there is a big downfall: they only offer annual payments.
That said, it also seems as though the nameservers are handed out at random like a lottery…so you might end up with great hosting, or you might end up with something that isn’t so great…or isn’t great at all. It all depends. I don’t really know if they have an agreement with several web hosts or if all these servers belong to them. But I have 2 separate accounts with them right now and I’ve been using one of them for 6 months now with no problems at all. I just opened a second account with them and this time it’s been slightly problematic. They have responded to my support ticket within a matter of hours though, but they haven’t resolved the problem.
This would also explain the mixed reviews online; some people have been happy with their services for several years now, and others have been disappointed. In terms of features though, I would say I’m extremely satisfied. They offer everything that other sites offer, including Softaculous.
If you’ve tried either host, feel free to share your experience.
