Thylvether Is Pregnant

  • Sharebar

Thylvethter is pregnant.  Thylvethter is actually Printz’s cat (Printz is my twin sister’s cat).  But I take care of Thyl so I just call her my cat.  I’m sorry I’m not permitted to upload a picture of Printz because she is obese and my sister doesn’t want her to end up in LOL Cats.  Well, remember on the earlier post when I found out that the cat was actually female and not male because she was in heat? Well, since then she has displayed pregnancy signs so I’m pretty sure she will be giving birth this month or early next month.  I’m screwed.

I live with my mum, and for weeks now my twin sister and I have been trying to get someone to help us bring Thyl to SSPCA to get her sterilized.  But our friends with cars can’t leave work during working hours and SSPCA only performs sterilizations during working hours.  They are not available on Saturdays.

We didn’t make our first appointment early June because we were not in the country on that day.  So we have rescheduled and they told us to bring the cat on the 25th of August! By then, Thylvethter would have her liter already!

That said, something that has been weighing rather heavily on my mind is what my sister said: that Thyl should be given that chance to give birth once.  Now that she is about 1 month pregnant and her belly is already distended…I can’t even think of getting rid of her kittens.  It was my mistake to not sterilize her before she even mated with that semi-ginger stray-looking cat from the house down the street.

What annoys me slightly though, is her appetite: it’s come in full-force.  Normally, Printz and Thyl eats a can of “Happy Pets” which is made up of tuna red mean, twice a day: once in the morning, and a second time during dinner time.  They never seem to care about lunch time (I cook, and they don’t ‘meow’ or aren’t in the kitchen with me so it’s just habitual that we don’t feed them at that hour.  Plus, we have enough lizards, mice and rats outside to tickle their fancy.

Anyway, Thyl is now hungry after every meal.  Just now, I had to throw in two cans for dinner, and while cooking my own dinner, Thyl left the plate.  After a 10-minute break, she returned to the plate and started eating again!

I have zero experience with pregnant cats.  Do I just feed her whenever she’s hungry? She is definitely growing in size,
