Reading and Drinking Cosmopolitan

  • Sharebar

What’s the chance of someone reading the Cosmo and then drinking a Cosmopolitan later that same day? It’s almost 11pm and I just returned from Chilli Bar & Steakhouse with my twin sister and younger brother.  Call it pathetic, but that really is the joy of having siblings with common interests.  We had a late dinner, several double-shots of “Spring Bock” and two desserts.  It was my first time at that place.  I must say, I was rather pleased with the excellent service and polite waitress (you really don’t get a lot of that kind of service in this country anymore).  They got all our orders right, they served the meals at the right time, i.e. all desserts came together, all drinks together, etc. unlike some restaurants where they serve some people before others and then there’s that awkward waiting phase…

The atmosphere when we arrived was a little too quiet-romantic for a gathering of siblings however but the ambiance did pick up eventually near 10-11pm.  The bill came up to about Rs 1200 (approx. US$100), which isn’t bad at all (considering it was my twin sister’s treat) but for the stuff we ordered…not bad.  In fact,  I’ll list it:

  • 4 double shots of Spring Bock
  • 2 Cosmopolitans
  • 3 Deep-fried Camembert cheese with strawberry syrup dessert
  • 1 Tuna baguette platter
  • 3 Cokes
  • 3 Raisin sponge cake with rum and syrup

I’m a little sleepy with the alcohol in me so I might actually have a bit of an early night tonight.
