RIP Sir Daniel!

  • Sharebar

I was reading a friend’s wall on Facebook earlier today and that’s when I found out that my ex-English teacher Sir Daniel passed away several weeks ago, late June.  Although I don’t think he liked me much because he never really spoke to me properly almost like he would avoid conversations with me, I really did respect him as a teacher.  He really helped me develop my English essay writing skills and I will never forget him because of that.  He was also my very last English teacher, because I did my O’Levels in S5 (secondary 5) and I never really took English as a subject after that.

Sir Daniel, we teased your walking style, we teased your talking style…but that’s what students do to teachers behind their backs.  As a class, we really liked you and it also helped that you were our class teacher so you were sort of like a second parent to us for a short time.  Even if I will always remember being offended when you told the class that I am as silent as a mouse and I throw candy wrappers under my desk, I will never forget how passionate you were about being a teacher and actually teaching students to be better.

I have kept 2 essays I wrote back in those days, and these 2 essays were corrected by you; I think they were the two final essays I wrote before the exams.  The last time I saw Sir Daniel, it was before I left for China and he was walking hand in hand with a lady.  Oh well.  RIP Sir Daniel, you will always be in our hearts.
