I am utterly devastated. Okay, not quite but I am still in a state of shock. Apparently, Google has decided to discontinue support for Google Toolbar after Firefox 4. So if you are like me, someone who upgraded their browser to Firefox 5 expecting it to be the best then I’m sure you are equally disappointed at this point.
To be honest, I’ve always disliked toolbars. But just a few months ago I decided to install Google Toolbar again and I really started relying on it. Especially with its PR and search box. What a nasty coincidence this is, for it to fade away exactly when I really want and need it.
According to Google, the features on their toolbar have already been integrated into Firefox 5 so there’s no point to continue support of the toolbar on the latest Firefox version. Many FF fans out there still on earlier browser versions have refused to upgrade due to this incompatibility.
