Desktop Cleanup – For Better PC Performance

  • Sharebar

Tired of having a disorganized desktop and an almost crawling PC? We can help you out and improve your PC performance a little just by following these simple steps. There’s no need for download or installation.Keep your desktop clean. Did you know that the number of files you have on your desktop contributes to your boot up time?

  1. a.    Save your documents to your “documents” folder. Desktop is there to hold important shortcuts not the actual files.
    b.    Keep all your shortcuts in one place. If you have an application shortcut on your start menu and your taskbar, why place another shortcut on your desktop?
    c.    If you can, only leave Recycle bin on your desktop.
  2. Use Quick Launch for commonly used programs only, simply, because that’s what it is for. You don’t have to create a shortcut to MS InfoPath on your quick launch unless you really use it that often.
  3. Manage your startup programs. Remove the stuff you don’t use. There are days you use your computer just for copying files. You don’t really need Skype on your notification area trying to connect at startup.

After the steps above, your desktop should now be clean and organized. And if you would notice, your boot up time will decrease.
