Avoid Write-On-My-Body Or Hold Up Sign Gig Offers On Fiverr!

  • Sharebar

I’m not new to community sites.  A few years ago I had a forum addiction; I would join all kinds of forums.  I also joined different community sites, and even started a few of my own, one of which was a dating site.  One method of verifying your identity is by writing your username either on your body (this is usually for dating-related sites) or holding up a sign or paper with your name or their website.
So for those of you guys on Fiverr or similar sites willing to do these gigs for a stranger who is willing to pay a mere $5 for it, you really should be careful because you might be exploited in this manner.

Unless of course you don’t mind seeing your face as an avatar on a dating site or a community that you are not even a member of?

As for communities who choose this method to approve membership verification, you might want to rethink this now that such gigs have become a popular, affordable and effective means of advertising products, campaigns or websites.  It is no longer a reliable way to prove that the registrant is indeed who they say they are.
