There is not a lot of restrictions in importing stuff here in Seychelles as long as it is for personal use. It’s definitely not like Singapore, where they restrict everything (i.e. if it’s not sold in Singapore, chances are it’s because the item is prohibited e.g. electronic cigarettes). But who cares, my Crest Whitestrips order has arrived!
My friend Ant had to bring it in from Shanghai, she said she couldn’t find any at Carrefour so she was lucky to have found a few at Tesco. One box costs about RMB197 at the moment. Div and I bought 2 boxes each, because it’s extremely difficult to obtain so we might as well sort of stock up. It is recommended to use only one box in a period of one year.
This box is the Whitestrips Premium which is a 7-day course. It contains strips for the upper teeth and separate strips for the lower teeth. It should be used twice a day, once in the morning and the second time in the evening. Each strip should be placed at different time intervals. For example, if you place one on your upper set of teeth, you should place the lower strip after you remove the upper one.
I found out about Crest Whitestrips during my first year in China, in 2005 right before I returned to Seychelles for the holidays. At the time, the box was being sold as an imported product directly from the USA. The box only had English writing, but the text instructions were covered with Chinese stickers. I was very surprised after using this product because I actually felt like it was working, there was a visible difference.
So I’m really glad that I’ll be able to start a new course. I’ll have to avoid teeth-staining substances for a while if I want to keep my teeth white! Although I don’t think I’ll begin today, I’ll start some time this week or next.
