Div thought it would be funny to give me a shot of 'Coke under rocks'

A few days ago…Saturday night, we held a small farewell gathering for my twin sister who will be leaving for China again, this time for her Masters degree.  She will be in Beijing this time (previously she was at Changchun city, Jilin Province).  We invited some of our close friends…mainly people who have been there for her this past year.  Although it was supposed to be just a small dinner.  Thank you Ant, Gis, Jim, Jas, War, and Ann for coming by and bringing food or booze.  I suppose just passing by for the official farewell and good luck is what counted.

My mum has sent me an email telling me to save up and visit my sister but honestly at this point I don’t see myself leaving the country any time soon.  Everyone who knows me well will know that my current work situation will keep in the country for quite some time, which I’m really happy about.  That, and the fact that I am not a big fan of Beijing.  I only had to go there for half a day for me to know it’s not my kind of place.  Although if my sister was in Shanghai that would be an entirely different situation…I’d be there visiting on the next holiday.

Then again, most of my close friends have actually already left Shanghai.  There are no longer anyone in Shanghai that I really care about or anyone that I was close to.  So it has lost a lot of value to me.

This is just a small event I wanted to add on my blog, so we can look back and remember that we actually had a small gathering.  This would also explain why I didn’t post the night of the gathering.
