Shark Attack: Second Victim Due to No Warning from Seychelles Officials?

  • Sharebar

There’s a lot of news going around regarding the shark attack that happened last week here in Seychelles at Anse Lazio on Praslin where a British honeymooner and IT specialist Ian Redmond lost his life.  It’s big news because this was a second attack at the exact same location, just a few weeks after a French diver (Nicolas Virolle) lost his life in the same manner.

Apparently, none of these tourists were told by the government, their hotels or other officials that a French diver had been killed by a shark attack very recently.

As a local, I do find it weird and shocking even, that the tourists weren’t warned about the shark attack had occured in that vicinity just weeks ago.  Nobody really knew it was something that would have happened again in the same location.  Especially because locals always frequent the beaches.  But surely a warning would have been useful, so it would be one of those ‘do it at your own risk’ type of things.

Anyway, this is just a personal blog and this is nowhere close to my forte.  If you are looking for more informed resources you might want to check out the latest news or blogs by people who know their stuff.  Please visit:
