Things are getting a little serious now with the whole on-road test preparation. My on-road exam is early next week. My instructor claims that I won’t fail but I do have the tendency to defy predictions. He told me that it could take 2 weeks up to a month or more just to get my license after the test assuming I pass!
Anyway, today I was “all over the place”. I went to St Louis, Le Niol, Bel Air, town (Victoria), Mont Fleuri, and even La Louise (first time). So I think I’ve done every road I’m supposed to know and here onwards it’s just repetition, repetition, repetition.
My instructor has a Daihatsu Cuore, with a relatively powerful engine. This made La Louise an ‘okay’ area in terms of steepness. I can imagine cars like Kia Picanto or Hyundai i10, they’d have to be on the first gear I think, when they’re climbing this part of the country.
People I meet keep asking me: “how’s the driving coming along, are you able to cope?” and I’m trying to figure out why. Okay, so I’m 28 and a decade late in getting my license. But surely it’s still considered an “alright” age? Driving has never been something I was interested in until this year…just a few months ago in fact. So yeah, I’m getting there and I will get there. I don’t need anyone’s lack of support quite frankly.
