Yesterday I had a driving lesson early in the morning (8am) and the only problem I faced was with that darn handbrake! I released it almost simultaneously with the clutch and all of a sudden the car stopped. I didn’t really know that the clutch had to be slightly down before releasing the handbrake. I’ve done this exercise more than ten times and I’ve done alright on each one. Only yesterday did things start to go wrong.
But it’s a good thing that I made that mistake right before the on-road test. I have one more driving lesson before the test.
The instructor had the audacity to ask me if I owe him money. I have the stupid habit of trusting someone’s decency (e.g. not counting money that is given to me or not getting someone to give me a receipt after I’ve paid for something). I handed him 500 rupees just the other day: 250 rupees was for my on-road test, and 180 was for my two extra lessons (Saturday and Monday). Which means he is the one who owes me 70 rupees which I didn’t even ask for. I told him “no, I don’t owe you anything…calculate it…”.
I’m 100% sure that I paid him per 5 lessons. As he counted the off-road test as one lesson, then I deducted it from the 5 that I paid for. So in total I paid him for 32 lessons, minus one for the off-road test. Which means he owes me one more lesson, which is tomorrow. He really is a son of a b*tch. I really hate people who think I owe them money.
His senility revealed itself that day he told the student that I had 15 lessons doing off-road practice. He really needs to sort himself out.
