Gamers Helping Science Find A Cure for AIDS Revisited

One Up: Gamers Help Scientists Solve Molecular Puzzle That Could Lead To AIDS Vaccine | TechCrunch.

The first article about this came out a few weeks ago and I remember sharing it on my Facebook wall and nobody really cared so I took it down when I cleared the clutter.  It’s quite unfortunate that nobody I know actually cares about this sort of stuff.  I think it’s amazing though.  I’m surprised this whole mystery wasn’t given to gamers sooner.  It’s almost too obvious that if someone’s going to solve something so mind-boggling it would have to be those hardcore gamers.  Not that doctors and scientists are useless because they’re not.  But hardcore gamers are relentless when it comes to solving something faster than anyone else.

If you’ve got some time, check out ‘Fold.IT‘ and ‘Solve Puzzles for Science’ while you’re at it.
