Finally at 28…License to Drive!

  • Sharebar

The other day (12th October) after the big zit on my face disappeared I decided to head down to the SLA to process my driving license.  That’s when I realized that I have been spelling ‘license’ the American way.  Apparently, the “correct” (British way and therefore Seychelles way) spelling of the word is ‘licence’.  How odd-looking.

Anyway, the lady there took my picture, and then right before printing she asked me if “Sabrina Sabino” was my real name.  The nerve.  I think she was just joking though.  Although some joke, huh? I replied, “yup that’s my real name believe it or not.  Don’t worry I get it a lot…some people don’t believe that’s my real name”.

This is why I’m hesitant when it comes to dealing with offices here in Seychelles.  I can always expect something weird to happen.  Nothing beats my first visit to Nouvobanq though.  I will write about that actually.  2 years of driving experience and I’ll be able to rent a car.  Yay.

Oh yeah, and they got my address wrong (the block number).  I will still try my best to squeeze in some time for driving practice with my instructor though.
