MeeGo operating system is the combination of Nokia’s Maemo and Intel’s Moblin operating system. But still you will be having a question in mind, what is the MeeGo operating system? MeeGo is an open source mobile operating system which is based on Linux and which was programmed in C language. MeeGo is planned to work on various hardware platforms which include handhelds, in-car devices, media- phones, tablets, net- books, televisions, etc.
It is said that MeeGo is the competitor of other mobile operating system devices like, iPhone, Windows Phone, Palm’s webOs, Android and BlackBerry’s RIM. It does not mean that MeeGo operating system will be replaced with Symbian, but it will be continued to co-exist. The next version of Maemo which is Maemo 6 will be MeeGo compatible and the applications of MeeGo for Nokia devices will be sold directly from the Ovi Store.
If you have experience with Moblin operating system, then it will not be difficult for you to use MeeGo operating system, as it is very similar to Moblin. And the first thing you will notice when MeeGo starts it will be “MyZone” which have the combination of your calendar with the recent documents and posts of your friends from Twitter.
