oomla is free and open source CMS software for publishing contents on internet and intranet. Joomla is a web application framework with MVC [Model view controller] which can work independently. It is written in PHP language, which use the concepts of object oriented programming [OOP]. One of the biggest advantages it offers to its’ user is that, any one can buy commercial extension or download the free versions officially from Extension Directory of Joomla.
Now you might be having a question, everything is fine, but how to familiarize yourself with Joomla open source cms software? As I said earlier, its’ an open source software, you can easily find several ways to familiarize with it.
Several E-books are available which can be downloaded easily and they will be true on your expectation as they will provide you the step by step information on basic things you should know about Joomla before using it, another way is you can look for online video tutorial on YouTube, several blogs are offering free tutorials which are very easy to understand and another way is you can even learn by yourself.
Just install it on your local server or on your web server and login to its admin panel and start looking at all the options it provides, you will get some idea that how actually Joomla works.
