Android 4.0, named as Ice Cream Sandwich, the combination of Gingerbread and Honeycomb. Much awaited, finally launched on Tuesday with Google and Samsung in Hong Kong. Previously it was planned to be launched on 11 October, but it postponed for the respect of Steve Jobs’ sudden demise.  Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first phone which will run on Android 4.0, which will be seen in market from next month. But for developers there’s good news, SDK of Android 4.0 is available on the website of Android Developer. Lets’ see the excellent features of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Here are some of the features of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich:

  • It comes with new user interface which provides virtual user interface compared to that older one capacitive screen. New widgets, gestures, sensitive action bars, etc are some of the new feature. Overall, it will be proved as a fresh look.
  • Now Folders will be easy to create, with just a drag-and-drop which is similar to iOS.
  • Like HTC Sense 3.x it provides the facility to access applications directly from lock screen.
  • New font Roboto. Error correction on the keyboard, copy and paste is improved.
  • Comes with better voice integration, application for camera which comes with zero shutter lag, settings for time lapse and zoom while recording and also the built-in photo editor.
  • One of the best ability to kill applications which are off and using data in background.

Still there are several functionalities which will be seen as an overall improvement compared to all the previous versions.
