This past week I installed everything.exe on my Windows XP SP2 system to finally search for a database backup I had of my old blog(s). I’ve kept this pending because I feared finding out the worst: that all was lost. Unfortunately, there was no backup (no idea how this happened though because I always keep backups of backups!). In fact, I had no .sql files. I tried to move passed this but I couldn’t. So last night I decided to check the Wayback Machine.
I’ve done this before; I’ve searched for my old site and they had a few posts here and there. But it never occurred to me to search for them. See, in my old blog I did what I do here in this new blog: I keep a list of titles categorized chronologically.
To my surprise, the posts were loading! So I spent hours copying and pasting my old archives (from my MSN Spaces journals in 2005 to the one on Blogsource).
I am now trying to save as many articles as possible on the Raw. So far, only a handful won’t load…I think there’s about 4-5 posts on the old archive.
I’m am at February 2008, and I blogged until July 2008. Fingers crossed~!
I will most likely save some posts here, although I’m trying to figure out how I can do that in a way where I separate the old archives with my new posts. I have a lot of politically-incorrect posts on the old blog which I’ve decided not to publish. Although I do have some good posts related to web design, development, domaining, etc. which I would like to share with everyone.
