In late 2008, I decided to register sabrinasabino.com. However, I decided that it would be more ‘special’ to register it on my birthday. That way, it will hold more significance to me and it was also a birthday present to myself. So if you check out the WhoIS of this site, you will see that it was indeed registered on my birthday. I had to go as far as calculating the time difference between China and the US registrar just to get this right. No big deal, but still…I was outdoors and had to return to my dorm to register the domain name on time.
Anyway, I didn’t really want to start out with a blog. In fact, I had no plans for the site. It’s really tough to create a site using your own name as the domain name. Then again, what else could I have done but a blog? But at the time, I was not ready. I just didn’t want to commit to blogging again, and I was still trying to shake off the previous blogging experience. That said, I did install a blog ‘temporarily’.
I had some blog articles written during that time, that are still being searched for to this date, and visitors end up on this site with a 404 (page not found) error. So I will do what I can to restore these archives.
I’ve mentioned on the previous post that I’m trying to retrieve as much of my past blogs as possible. I will upload the articles here. There are HUNDREDS of blogs posts, but I will only publish a selected few (or not so few), that will be helpful to the internet community. I will not publish the archived ‘personal life’ posts.
So far, I am trying to recover blog posts on May 2008 and after that. I blogged until July 2008 and then I posted some articles in 2009.
I also have some articles on the free blog hosting, either WordPress or Blogspot (or both). I will import these blog posts as well.
I like that the current archives on this blog starts on April 2011 because I don’t like the idea of showing people that I’ve had blogging phases. But ultimately I want this site to be somewhat resourceful so I will just upload as much useful posts as I can. Even if the archives dates back to 2005 and this domain name was registered in 2009. Many bloggers or site owners do this so I suppose it’s something I should be able to do as well.
