Locked Out Of Facebook? Your Friends Will Soon Be Able To Help You Get Back In | TechCrunch.
Facebook will soon be implementing a new way of password retrieval. They’re putting ‘social’ into forgotten or stolen passwords. Let’s say your Facebook account is hacked and so is your email account (the one you’ve registered Facebook with). You’ll be able to pick out three trusted friends so they can help sort out your password issue. Facebook states:
It’s sort of similar to giving a house key to your friends when you go on vacation–pick the friends you most trust in case you need their help.
Sounds like a good idea right? Although how would that ensure that they cannot retrieve your password without your permission? I mean, assuming your email account was hacked into, it’s not like Facebook should send the link there to confirm that you’ve initiated a password retrieval.
I don’t know…there’s something missing here…
