Re: YueYue Chinese Toddler Victim of Hit & Run

  • Sharebar

In the early hours of this morning, I was chatting with my twin sister on Fetion and it was only then did I found out about YueYue; the little Chinese girl who was the victim of 2 hit & run accidents and died a week later.  I told my mum about it and she had already known; it was on SBC news when the video went viral (and when everyone was talking about it  but someone everyone forgot to mention it to me).

This video went viral not quite because the toddler was hit…but because there were supposedly 18 passersby that didn’t do anything to help the bleeding child.  The comments on Youtube under the viral video are mostly of Youtubers flaming the Chinese population.

I don’t want to talk about stuff like this on my blog but as I’ve lived in China for several years I will always hold it near and dear to my heart.  I’ve met really horrible Chinese people but I’ve also met the some of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met in my whole life there.

Let us not forget that the lady who attempted to save YueYue; the heroine in this tale; is also Chinese.  So it’s better to conclude that there are heartless people in this world, but once in a while you’ll find someone with a heart of gold.  Just because this incident was caught on video in China, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen everywhere else in the world.  China does not hold the highest rate for murder worldwide; surely they’re not as messed up as people think.
