Last week my mum decided to “unearth” some stuff in her room. We came across my grandfather’s World War II passport. He was actually only 17 years at the time, he left Seychelles for Kenya “for a course in Mosquito Control”.
According to my mum, back in those days people were issued only temporary passports. They didn’t issue booklet types like we use today.
This ‘passport’ is in really bad condition, it’s been folded over and over again. Nevertheless, the stamps are clear and the typography as well. Overleaf, there is a Kenya visa stamp.
Here’s the medal he was given for this:

Hi,
Nice items.
I am interested in the passport, maybe we can talk about this?
Neil
Hi Neil, I’m open to offers. Rgds.
Your medal and clasp was issued in 2003 for service around the Suez from 16th Oct. 1951 to 19th Oct. 1954. It is nothing to do with WW2. Can you describe the reverse of the medal and what is inscribed around the rim? Thanks Roy
Hi Roy, thanks for the information. I’ve had several other collectors updating me on that valuable information. Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. I’ve sent you an email with the information engraved around the rim. I didn’t even know it was there before; I hadn’t noticed it!
Cheers.
