It is very convenient to submit blog posts via email. You won’t have to log into your blog account. You can simply send the email to a ‘special’ email address and your blog will automatically publish the email as a post. WordPress-based blogs offers this feature on their core software. Here’s what you need to do to set it up:
STEP 1 – Create an email address specifically for blog posting use. The more complicated it is, the better. Do not use free email accounts (e.g. gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc.) for this. Preferably, use an email address from your own domain name. Such as you@yourdomain.com. On your WordPress blog’s admin panel, go to: Settings -> Writing. You should see ‘Post Via Email’ and there, they will offer several recommended auto-generated email strings that you might want to use.
STEP 2 – Install Postie WordPress plugin. It offers advanced settings for this posting feature, including auto-publish.
STEP 3 – Configure your WordPress Postie mailserver settings. This configuration is for the email address that you have created specifically for this feature. Not your personal email address.
The best thing about using Postie for this is that you can authorize email addresses, which enhances security and further prevents spam.
For added convenience, you can use a weblog client instead of your email address.
