One of the coolest things I encountered earlier was the Tencent building. It’s nothing fancy, in fact it looks like your ordinary building here in Beijing. But the great thing about Beijing is that you are at the country’s capital city. It is full of .com or .cn companies and also others including CCTV 9. All these news anchors live here…let’s face it…if you are on TV and are know by many then you are a celebrity.
It’s very cold here, a few degrees Celcius below zero. Tonight we have migrated and will be spending some days with a family friend at the Grand Hyatt. They do not offer free wifi.
I feel like I’ve been here for quite a while. The highlight of my day was actually getting to spend it with my twin sister whom I hadn’t seen since last August. We had some “street food” sort of like a Chinese burger which was absolutely delicious. We then went to Walmart to get some basic supplies.
We might head over to Changchun for Christmas. I’ve been there once before, it’s such a beautiful place…more like a town than a city if I were to compare it to Shanghai. But there are enough things to do there to keep us occupied.
Although I kind of want to stay here this week so maybe it’s something we can do early next week. How time flies.
I’ve already tried the bus, taxis and the subway here. In tnis weather it’s just best to stick to taxis I think. I’m one day away from having chapped lips.
