WordPress 3.3 Plugin Incompatibility Issue: Plugin Culprit Found!

Okay, I found the “culprit” – the cause of the error I encountered when I attempted to do an automatic update of WordPress 3.3: The Postie plugin!

The documentation on their page states:

1.4.3 (2011.12.12)

Removed get_user_by function to make compatible with wp 3.3 – now requires 2.8+

So there you go…if you’ve attempted to automatically update your blog to WordPress 3.3 and you’re not able to access your dashboard then make sure you configure the Postie plugin if you have it installed.
