The following message was received just a few minutes ago via ImpressPages CMS newsletter to resolve a bug issue on version 2.0:

Great power comes with great responsibility. ImpressPages CMS 2.0 has really powerful widget system. Many revisions of the same page is being created while you are editing the page in case you will need to restore some old version. Each image has been stored in original and in one or two cropped formats. This requires quite big amount of space on server. To save that space we have created an engine which allows to store only one image for all widgets that uses it.

Unfortunately, we just recently discovered a bug in this engine. It happens that engine removes images that are still in use. In such case page revisions does not help because all revisions use the same image. This bug is fixed in current development branch (https://github.com/impresspages/ImpressPages-CMS/issues/54). However, 2.1 version is not released yet.

Everyone who has 2.0 version installed, please follow these steps to avoid this problem:

  1. Login to administration panel
  2. Go to Developer -> Modules config -> Configuration -> Advanced Options
  3. Change value “keep_old_revisions_for” for about 60 days or as long as you need to upgrade to v2.1

Please, make these changes as soon as possible. If someone of you already faced this issue and lost any image, we want to appologize to you sincerely. There is no other way to restore disappeared images unless using your own backup.

ImpressPages CMS 2.1 with IpForm, IpFaq widgets and users registration module is on its way. We plan to release it in two weeks.

It is always a good idea to take back up of images and database. These measures will be useful and come to our rescue when any error arises in CMS (content management systems).
