Apologies For Downtime!

My visitor stats was incredibly disappointing yesterday and it was all thanks to my sites (the whole lot of them) experienced a forced downtime.  It was all due to exceeding CPU resources.  I don’t know the exact cause for this because my ISP (Intelvision) does a crazy thing where I can only access my server after midnight – I’m not a server person so I don’t know how these things work – but I have been told by pros that my ISP is to blame.

Anyway, WordPress plugins are the first possible culprits.  This is actually ironically annoying.  WordPress is supposed to be a CMS – why can’t it handle its own plugins? I’m very tempted to move out of it, but I can’t think of a better option at the moment.  So I have no choice but to make do with this.

I have 2 options: separate websites that require high CPU resources from the ones that don’t.  That way, none will share CPU quota.  The other options is to enter a new plan.

Anyway, I do apologize for the downtime experienced yesterday and I am doing whatever I can to identify the cause of the problem.

Downtime is something that all of us must have experience at some or the other point of time. It does not happen because of an individual fault only, but it may also happen if there is too much load on the servers.

If you are expecting lot of visitors on your sites, then dowtime is the last thing which you may expect. However, it is something that we all have to live with especially when the ISP does not have powerful servers to bare the load . Most of the times we do not know the reason for downtime and if we are have made such a schedule that we would be eager to work on our site and respond to some comments of the visitors, or even do some sort of addition/deletion work on our site. Such situation is really irritating. However, it is good that you have been able to understand that you would be able to access your server only after midnight. So now it would be for you to adjust your timings for that.
Dear Sabrina, when you do not have any other better alternative, but to learn to live with it.

Sometimes a specific website may exceed the resources allocated to it. This may cause the site’s loading time to lag or in certain circumstances it causes a temporary downtime.
