I just knew that this hobby would come back to me eventually. I was scheming through some domains yesterday and I was lucky enough to find an undeveloped PR3 domain that’s 12 years old! That’s not the best part…the best part is that it was under $50! It’s ripe for development.
I’ve had a good look at the domains that I own and I really have to start developing the ones that have been with me, and undeveloped for so many years. I have also decided to drop a handful of them that I don’t think I’ll have the time (nor the passion) to develop.
One of the domain registrars that I’ve been a member of for about 5 years now have decided to shut down. They were offering very cheap .coms, so that’s a bit of a bummer. But the worst part is that now I have to make sure that I transfer them out before they expire or I’m screwed.
Domains I’m into (and feel free to offer me any that you have):
- 4-letter .coms (pronounceable, aged, brandable)
- Aged domain names
- PR3+ (never dropped)
- A great bargain!
Obviously I’d like the idea of owning a 3-letter .com one day but those things are just way above my hobby-budget at the moment!
Domain I would love to own: sabz.com!

Getting a domain name is actually a nice thing to have. Domain actually acts as a platform on which the whole of the online business process can be laid upon quite easily.
Well Sabrina, I think that you have moved not one but many steps ahead when you have been able to get a site with PR3 domain which is 12 years old. More importantly, you have been able to get it at a very good price.
Now, for developing this I think that you have to do good work and it is always better to focus all you time and energy on few rather than many works. This would allow you to do well on particular work avoiding wastage of time.
Again closing down of some domain registrars is not in our control and we have to be ready for such shocking news and more importantly start working afresh to find alternative arrangements. Best of luck.
Thanks Devesh. I’ve developed that site, and so far so good. The fact that the site has started with a PR3 really helps in terms of advertising and content.
