You know you’re getting old when one of the conversations you have that keeps popping up when you’re talking to people is health-related. The other day I had a brief conversation with someone I had just met and according to him, people should be in bed by 10pm. I do agree, but it’s just a bad habit I have to still be awake after midnight. It’s a habit I really need to break. It’s almost 1am in the morning and I just got back from the 24/7 gym here at Labriz. It feels so good to come out of the gym at any hour of the day. But I know I should have gone there sooner. I just dislike a crowd – no matter how wealthy they may be.
For 2 consecutive evenings, we had a buffet dinner at Lo Brizan restaurant and I over-did the calories because I have a hard time controlling myself when it comes to buffet dessert. This has always been a problem for me. But I noticed that when I do integrate exercise in my day, it’s a day when I avoid eating too much. It’s logical – why in the world would I need to exercise if I was going to eat my weight in food? But whenever I don’t exercise, I’m very laissez-faire with myself. I just let myself go and I hate it.
This afternoon almost immediately after lunch we borrowed a bike for an hour (it’s free for the first hour so we took advantage of that). We cycled to the jetty, and then the presidential suite, then our hour was almost up so we just gave the bikes back. I took some pretty cool pictures and I can’t wait to upload them. Tomorrow I won’t borrow the bike. I’ll just try to spend an hour or two at the gym. I had such a wonderful time there about an hour ago. I’m exhausted but it’s the good type of exhausted.
Recently, people have been telling me that I’ve lost weight and it’s an amazing feeling. It’s great to feel like my efforts are worthwhile. I’m trying to lose about 2-3Kgs more (in fat) and then I’ll tone up. This needs to be a conscious effort, so no more desserts for me. Plus, I noticed that my skin becomes problematic when I consume too much sugar. I’m drinking tea right now and I’ve added sweetener instead of sugar. Happy exercising and stay healthy!

How’s vacation? Its good to hear that you are hitting the gym. Give me the details, how much weight you lifted???
Haha, I don’t expect to lose any weight here, but my aim is not to gain anything extra. So I have been going to the gym at least once a day. I’ll go again later this evening. It’s a challenge though because we all go for meals 3 times a day (but I’ve been skipping breakfast ever since I came (except for today). Tomorrow will be our last day here and so the temptation will be considerably less.
I agree, if not able to lose than not even let it gain
Exactly!
I’m off to the gym again in a few minutes.
Shedding weight by exercising and following a regimen is perhaps the best way:)
Yup, it’s an entire lifestyle change really.
Going to the gym and having some work out to keep your body fit is one of the best things we can do for ourselves. It is because of the modern lifestyle that we do not burn the calories which we need to . This results in deposition of the fats which is not good sign for the health.
You are lucky to have a gym which is open 24/7 and so you can adjust your timings without missing even a single day of your workout. You may or may not lose wight but ti will surely keep you fit and fresh if you are regular visitor to the gym.
