There is ample scope to emerge as a freelance writer in India but there are some serious issues that the writers face while attempting make a career in writing in India. Many a times, the clients turn out fake cheating the writers who face non-payment of their dues. Some clients are harsh enough to return the articles for rework frequently. This is a serious problem for freelance writers who face a communication gap due to disadvantages of geographical distances. It is easy to explain an issue if there is a face-to-face discussion. The lack of proper instructions may result in article rejection causing serious loss of time energy and money.
Since there is a distance between the client and the writers, there can be serious problem if the writer encounters any technical problem such as power cut or instruction doubts. The consideration on the articles can be done in the most efficient way when there is frequent group discussion on the strategies that should be followed while approaching the projects. Since the client is also entitled to get the payments from the institutions so, the whole payment process is delayed if the dues are not cleared in timely manner. Many a times the writers suffer delays and face difficulties, as he himself has to bear the cost of writing and transferring the articles.
Indian freelance writers are at the biggest disadvantage that they are not able to be online with their buyers in western countries due to geographical locational differences. However, it is not the only problem but bigger problem is scammers who disappear after getting the articles from the writers. In India, the internet charges are also not so low and break downs as well as power cuts are major problems.
It is good thing that Indian writers are able to get their payment through bank in India. When the articles are returned for rewriting, then they are not able to really understand well the reasons for such return this causes bigger problems to the writer it causes damage to their self confidance too.
