The Laptop: Every Home Should Have at Least One

Ever since I first encountered computers as a child, I have been a little fascinated by the way so much time can be taken up sitting using one little electronic device. Since the early days of playing Manic Minor and Daly Thompson’s Decathalon on the ZX Spectrum, and learning how to run a simple programme from a (large) floppy disk on the school’s BBC Computers, computers of one sort or another have over the years found a definite part in my life.

At University I wrote essay after essay on the old workhorse of a computer I had acquired, always surrounded by my scrawled notes and numerous text books – this was the days before the internet – and often thought how lucky I was.

First Look At Listbingo 2.0 Pre-Release Screenshots

Gobingoo, the developers of Listbingo component for Joomla has released screenshots of their development.  Gobingoo has never released a version after 1.3.8 which was compatible for Joomla 1.5.  After the release of Joomla 1.6, 1.7 and then 2.5, Listbingo has not delivered for these versions.  This has caused many developers and website owners to either choose an alternative component so they can move on with Joomla’s core software or they’re stuck with 1.5 in the hope that Listbingo releases any version compatible with Joomla 2.5 (or later). May 2012 Goals

I had April goals so why not May goals right? I will have May goals! I’ve thought about it and I have decided to focus on intensive targets rather than extensive ones.  My main objective this month is to reach the #99′xxx mark on Alexa rankings (I am currently on #164’587).  This means I have to drive in more traffic to my blog using a variety of ethical methods.

You will see less frequent blog posts from me this month because I will be working out of the site and also on other projects.  I will also be doing a lot of visitor stats analysis…I’m starting to get this feeling that Google Analytics is just way off on their estimates so I really want to look into this.
